A lengthy losing run means MUTAMADED is hardly one for maximum faith but he did respond well to cheekpieces when just edged out at Ripon last week and stands a good chance off the same mark if the headgear continues to have a positive effect. Matthew Ennis is an asset in these events so Inside Intel is put up as the chief threat ahead of Socially Shady.

There was lots to like about BURNING EMOTION‘s Redcar debut second and she looks to have found a good opportunity to go one better. Lethal Levi is in the obvious one to chase her home, although Pepper Arden should be a lot sharper with his debut behind him and could also play a part in the finish.

Being in form counts for plenty at this level so Hard Solution has to be high on the shortlist but it’s possible 6f suits slightly better and he’s taken on with MAJOR PUSEY, who has dropped to a mark in the 50s for the first time and has shown enough in his two outings this year to suggest he could still be capable of winning at this level. Lord Of The Glen and Signore Piccolo are also on the shortlist.

Jebel Dukhan is the standard setter but he looked tricky when only fifth of six on his recent handicap/turf debut so is taken on with the Mark Johnston-trained ALFAYAATH, who showed ability on his debut back in December and should be suited by this longer trip on his return. Vision Of Victory perhaps wasn’t suited by Newmarket on her reappearance and retains potential based on her AW second last autumn, while Alyara could have more to come now stepping back up in trip.

Although WISE JUDGEMENT had the advantage of dictating at Beverley last week it would be unwise to suggest she doesn’t have the potential for better still as a lightly raced sort from the Johnston yard, and she’s taken to defy a penalty. A shorter trip and blinkers are both possible positives for Finally Mine and she’s put up as the chief threat.

Hard to rule any of them out in a wide-open race and preference for GET BOOSTING is only slight. Excuses can be made for his last two runs but his earlier Ripon win worked out well and his yard has won two of the last three runnings of this race. Well-treated Show Me Show Me could easily return to form back at 5f with promising Jonny Peate having his first ride for the yard. James Watt is still on a handy mark on his old form despite going up for his recent Ripon win while Economic Crisis has a bit in hand of Ventura Flame on their autumn form.

There could be more to come from LANGHOLM (nap) as a sprinter based on his dominant display at Carlisle recently so he’s selected to make light of a 5lb penalty. Stronsay is another who arrives on the back of a recent win (in his case C&D) but Alsvinder, who has a fine record here, is weighted to turn the tables with him on course form a couple of weeks back and is put up as the main threat. Toolmaker is also of interest on his first outing for Tristan Davidson.
