SOCIALIST AGENDA made a very bright start to his career in the summer of 2020 when rattling off a relatively quick hat-trick in bumpers. That form looks useful and, though he’s not been seen for over a year, he’s fancied to make light of an absence and continue the good work now having his first start over hurdles and longer trip expected to suit. Ex-pointer Rocky Lake is also of interest on his first start in this sphere, while Hazard Collonges is entitled to come on for his run at Chepstow last month.

There are a few in with a shout here, but the vote goes to WORLD TRIP. Olly Murphy’s charge showed much improved form to get off the mark at Perth back in April and ran to a similar level when runner-up in a steadily-run race over the same course and distance on her final start.

The yard continue in good form and, provided she’s ready to roll, she is expected to make a winning reappearance from what still looks a fair mark. This step back up in trip should suit Chosen Shant, so she could be the main danger – ahead of Kentford Mallard and Go Chique.

JESUITIQUE managed to win twice over hurdles when trained in France and has already double her career tally for Dr Richard Newland after just two starts. Newland has a good reputation with new recruits and Jesuitique looks another shrewd recruit, winning at Sandown last time with a bit up his sleeve. Given he escapes a rise in the weights for that given the conditions of the race, his claims are obvious here. Last year’s winner Teescomponents Lad arrives in top form and must be considered.

Hardy du Seuil got the better of a heavily odds-on favourite in a match last time, but didn’t jump all that fluently on that occasion, and could be worth taking on with SAM BARTON. Admittedly, he didn’t totally convince with his jumping on chase debut at Ascot last month, but he looks every inch a chaser and it will be surprising if there isn’t plenty of improvement in him now.

Cheekpieces are added now and the handicapper has dropped him 3lbs in the weights, so he has enough in his favour. The Edgar Wallace, who is debuting in this sphere, looks another intriguing contender.

HERONORD looked set to make a winning chase and stable debut up until unseating his rider at Taunton last week. He travelled through the race as though ahead of his mark but fell at the third-last. Assuming he’s none the worse for that, compensation looks forthcoming from the same mark. Atlantic Storm will find this trip more suitable than last time and could go well at long odds.

A tightly-knit handicap in which the low-mileage hurdler TAQWAA gets the nod given he didn’t enjoy the rub of the green when fourth at Stratford last month. That was his handicap debut and he left the impression he is up to defying this mark when the circumstances allow. He can race off a 2lb lower mark now. Scrutinise is feared most if building on his Stratford fifth after an absence with Infiniti also in the shake-up if stepping up on her Chepstow return.

SPRINGWELL BAY pulled clear of the rest when going close in a valuable bumper at Punchestown on debut in April and should prove hard to beat starting out for Jonjo O’Neill having changed hands for €155,000 soon after. Urban Grit and Barest of Margins have also made promising starts and can fill the places.
