Trainer Keith Dalgleish is based in Carluke in Scotland. It has to be very significant and interesting that he is sending one horse all the way to Tipperary in Ireland on Wednesday.

Dalgleish has sent just three runners to Ireland in his career. None of the three placed but make no bones about it, he is not going to the south of Ireland to finish out of the frame.

The journey in total is roughly a 762-mile round trip which includes a ferry across the Irish Sea. It would be a costly exercise to get the runner across so they will want to make it pay.

5.15 Tipperary

The Coolmore Ten Sovereigns Tipperary Stakes is a Listed contest in which six runners will go to post. The horse in question is Middleham Park’s Misty Ayr, who was last seen finishing ninth at Royal Ascot.

She was only beaten six lengths by the winner Quick Suzy but her effort can be marked up. Coming from the dreaded stall one on the day, she never had a hope being drawn on that side of the track, so to run that well was eye-catching.

Robert Cowell interestingly won this race in 2019 with Strive For Glory so Dalgleish would not be the first British trainer to land it. It is a decent pot and a great opportunity to get the horse some black type.

Misty Ayr arguably sets the form standard here as she was ahead of the reopposing Harmony Rose who had a slightly better draw in stall eight. Chris Hayes takes the ride and he is a quality rider so everything looks set for a huge run.
