Sky Bet - Money Back Offer (13:25 Ascot)

There’s a big day of racing at Ascot on Saturday and it’s time for another Sky Bet money back offer! If our horse finishes 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the 13:25 Ascot, Sky Bet will refund our stake as cash up to a maximum of £10.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £8.47 and here’s how…

Key terms

  • Applies to our first bet on the 13:25 Ascot.
  • Applies to bets placed between 11:00 on Thursday 14th October 2021 and 13:25 (race-off) on Saturday 16th October 2021.
  • If fewer than eight runners come under starters orders, Sky Bet may withdraw the offer.
  • If our horse finishes 2nd, 3rd or 4th, Sky Bet will refund our stake as cash up to £10.00.

Qualifying bet

If you’d like more information about qualifying bets and how they work, please see my qualifying bets guide.

It’s entirely up to you which horse you go for, but it would make sense to select a horse with fairly short odds in the hope of a 2nd, 3rd or 4th place finish.

At the time of writing, Hamish is available at back odds of 5.00 (4/1) and lay odds of 5.80.

We can calculate our lay stake using my Matched Betting Calculator

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £8.65…

Sky Bet logo

Place £10.00 on Hamish @ 5.00 = Potential profit of £40.00

Smarkets logo

Lay £8.65 on Hamish @ 5.80 = Potential liability of £41.52

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Outcome Sky Bet Smarkets Cashback Profit/Loss
Hamish wins + £40.00 – £41.52 £1.52 loss
Hamish finishes 2nd, 3rd or 4th – £10.00 + £8.47 + £10.00 £8.47 profit
Any other outcome – £10.00 + £8.47 £1.53 loss

So, we’ll make a nice profit of £8.47 if Hamish finishes 2nd, 3rd or 4th or we’ll lose a maximum of £1.53 on any other outcome. Risking £1.53 to make a potential profit of £8.47 gives us effective odds of 6.54, which I’m sure you’ll agree makes this a profitable offer in the long run.

If eligible, cash refunds will be credited within 72 hours of the race finishing.

* Hamish finished 4th, resulting in a profit of £8.47 on this Sky Bet offer. *
