  1. If you win the max payout at a live Keno game, the check the casino makes out will say “Pay to the Order of Stupid.”

  2. What is the house edge when the player ‘hops’ the 7’s for a buck on the 3-4, 5-3, 6-1 ? Each one of those pays 15 to 1

  3. the best rule of thumb for ALL casino games (at least tables) … if the payout odds are printed or displayed anywhere “it is a BAD bet”

  4. I think John is completely accurate in his presentation from a house “vig” standpoint.
Slot machines and Keno differ from most table games in the fact that they offer a potential “jackpot” style payout that can’t be won playing a low vig game like blackjack.

  5. Turned a $20 into $80on the big six last night. And a $20 into $45 the other night also on the big six. Do some math and stack the odds of winning

  6. I love craps… I usually put couple bucks on the hard ways, and press it if I hit it. I know statistically it is a bad bet, but this one guy kept hitting Hard 8 and Hard 10, I kept pressing it up 5 bucks higher every time he hit it, at one point the Hard 10 was at $35, and the Hard 8 was at $25… not to mention he hit his point 4 times…. made like 5 grand that night…

  7. The best bet is to throw all your money off a building and hope that the wind will blow all the bills backs up to the top of the building

  8. I am just entertained and chuckling that *_craps_* is highly-ranked on both the [ Best of / Worst of ] lists of casino games. (In fairness, *_baccarat_* was on both lists, too.)
The optional bets in both games, have sharp dividing lines between the _good_ and _bad_ bets.

Craps definitely appeals to me as a math-junkie, but additionally, I am supremely entertained by the betting patterns of fellow players on the table.

    { Anecdote: On ten-player tables, usually only myself and _perhaps_ one other player, play a very disciplined low-house-edge betting strategy. Very fun watching goofus betting, and goofus shooting. On the other extreme, I’ve been on a three player table (including me) where all of us employed _only_ really low-house-edge bets. It was fun… We were all *_ahead_* of the house; not by huge amounts, but positive territory nevertheless. }

My last gambling visit, on a ten-person table, my $100 stake (in fairness, I had a second $100 prepared for deployment, but was never needed) played for less than 90 minutes, and colored up for $250. Yet… I stayed in the casino another *_5 HOURS_* just watching the craps table, serving about 8 players. It was the best entertainment – and free – I have enjoyed in the last handful of years.

  9. Does it make sense to hedge the point (8,4,6,10) on the the hard way numbers when you’re laying on the Don’t pass?

  10. craps if the dice are rolling good and you know how to bet yes you can put a dent in the crap table the other advantage is that you can bet against the dice betting on the don’t side and that my man are tha facts

  11. traditionally you bet the tie hand in baccarate on the last hand its just for fun especially ir it hits lol but in my opinion yes baccarate is the best odds for your money in all casinos games  and that is the facts my man

  12. I don’t agree with the hard ways being a bad bet because you can cover it by placing the regular number. If I place the 6 and 8 for $25 and bet the hard ways for $10 each its a great cover. I normally don’t bet the hard ways until I win on a regular 6 or 8 so I’m just betting it with winning anyway.

  13. The 3 card bonus on Let it Ride is ridiculous. House edge is like 50% to 80%. Biggest sucker bet I’ve ever come across.

  14. I can write a shorter casino book with better advice. it would consist of just two words: Don’t go.

  15. The YO is also a bad bet. The true odds of rolling an 11 are 17-to-1, but the casino will only pay you 15-to-1 which gives them an 11.1% advantage. Additionally, if the payoff is shown on the layout as 15-for-1 rather than 15-to-1 the casino edge will be even higher at 16.7% There are much better bets to make that much lower casino advantages.

  16. The problem with a field bet is that there are 20 ways to roll the 4 losing numbers and only 16 ways to roll the 7 winning numbers and even after factoring in the double payoff for the 2 and 12 the casino ends with a 5.6% advantage. In some casinos they pay 3-to-1 on the 2 (or the 12) which cuts the casino edge in half to a more manageable 2.8%, but there are much better bets you can make, usch as a come/don’t come bets, or place bets on the 6 or 8.

  17. On the craps table I always bet the Feild and I don’t bet it every bet I just look for the shooter to roll a feild roll twice in a roll and then I bet the Feild. I also bet the YO bet on most of the opening roll just as an added fun bet. I don’t bet much maybe 10-15 dollars per Feild bet and not more than 1 dollar YO bet, so I just wanted to know your take on the Feild bets and the YO bets. Thanks

  18. I know the bets in the center of the craps table are terrible bets, and I’m always so amazed that I always see so many people make them.

  19. Video slots never let me down, and I agree for most of the games the gay warns people about. All about roulette , video slots with many reels at reasonable coin values and cards ( if your good at em. Great video man!

  20. We have a new video on three card poker that we just uploaded last week. You can see it at

  21. Okay video. Those are good thoughts if you play straight up. But if you play progressively, your odds go up. He didn’t mention that at all. Which is good, I guess it’ll save people from getting carried away.

  22. I’m surprised sic bo wasn’t mentioned. The big and small bets are already moderately steep edges – equal to the field bet with good rules (a bet I’m also surprised you don’t specifically mention), higher than single-zero roulette – and the bet bet on the table after them has a 9.7% edge. Like the big six wheel, the limits are usually lower, too, so a lot of people play.

  23. Side bets should be avoided because they are almost always bad and have a higher house edge than regular blackjack. A basic strategy player should never buy insurance. However, if you count cards you can sometimes find high count situations where it is to your advantage to buy insurance.

  24. Very informative. What’s your take on side bets of BJ, not including Insurance. I know Insurance has a high house advantage and should not be played. I ask more for the side bets of, Perfect Pairs, Lucky Ladies, Straight Jack and Match the Dealer. I hear many players I sit with that play these bets tell me that they win more playing those bets than their actual BJ bet.

  25. I have done several videos with Michael Shackleford who is also known as the Wizard of Odds. He has written on his web site about many of those baccarat variations. You can see that information at wizardofodds(dot)com/games/baccarat/

  26. What about no commission baccarat? How much of an edge does a casino gain by pushing a banker’s winning hand of 7? How about the dragon 7 bet on said table?

  27. In Caribbean Stud the casino’s edge is about 5.2% based on the player’s ante wager (or 2.6% based on the ante and call bet).

You can read a story about how to play Caribbean Stud on our web site at americancasinoguide(dot)com/basics-of-gambling/caribbean-stud-poker.html

  28. Casino War is not a good game to play. You can read more about it here – wizardofodds-dot-com/games/casino-war/ That site is run by Michael Shackleford who is also known as the Wizard of Odds. We have done some videos with him and he is very knowledgeable about casino odds and strategies.
