A huge total of 510 miles for Silvestris to travel for Mark Johnston, down to a happy hunting ground of Chepstow, where he will only be facing two rivals.
Albeit the outsider of the three, Johnston’s record at the track is exceptional. Boasting a strike-rate of 24% and a level stakes profit of +£20.58 for his three-year-olds at the Welsh track. Not to mention that he is 1/1 at Chepstow this season.
Franny Norton takes the reins for the Middleham-based trainer’s sole runner on the card, in what looks to be a sparse field.

On the back of a reasonable performance at Carlisle last week, it is about time he broke his maiden tag on turf at the seventh time of asking.
Norton partnered Silvestris to his only win under rules thus far in his career, with a half-length victory over Baba Reza at Chelmsford last autumn, over seven furlongs.
Since then, he has been gelded and high up in the weights on each of his three starts in 2021, so there is potential for excusing those runs.
Last week’s run at Carlisle was also met with interference in-running, so to be beaten by only three and a half lengths would likely be deemed a good result, after the analysis. The winner of that race, Noble Crusade, is now rated 81 so clearly showed some talent on the day too.
Prior to this run, Albert Camus was also a short-neck in-front of Silvestris in a tight finish at Lingfield, where our selection ultimately finished third. The John Gosden-trained three-year-old is now rated 89, and has won twice since.
